Baby Vincent is an exceptionally special little man. His mama and daddy have experienced so much heartache and loss before he was conceived.
Aurelia lost her father just before she married her love, Nick, in 2016. The newlyweds found out they were expecting their first baby five months after their wedding, which turned to heartache a month later when they lost their little one on Fathers Day.
More heartbreak followed when over the next two years they lost two more babies.
In November last year, they were scheduled to start IVF after doctors couldn’t pinpoint the causes of their losses. Before their appointment could come around though, they found out they had fallen pregnant for the fourth time and nine months later, baby Vincent arrived earthside!
Aurelia and Nick contacted me as part of my Rainbow Baby Initiative when they were 25 weeks. They mentioned in their application that they “think its important to share our story in order to remove the stigma surrounding miscarriages.” And I couldn’t agree more! It’s exactly why I started the Initiative.
You can read more about the Rainbow Baby Initiative here.
I also need to give a shoutout to their amazing friends! Not only did Aurelia and Nick apply, but I received a heap of applications from their friends nominating them. Aurelia, Nick and Vinnie are definitely surrounded by an incredibly supportive village!
